MARTHA FERGUSON
Has taken over as Jemco's Metalsmithing Instructor!
Martha Ferguson earned her BFA in Metals and Jewelry from Savannah College of Art and Design and went on to earn her MFA in Metalsmithing and Jewelry from Miami University of Ohio. For 30 years Martha has maintained an active role in her field as an accomplished artist and educator. Her body of work consists of wearable, utilitarian and sculptural pieces. One of her containers was selected for the book “The Metalsmiths Book of Boxes and Lockets” by author and educator Tim McCreight. Martha creates one-of-a-kind pieces, limited edition series of jewelry and specialty commissions. She taught jewelry classes at the Oregon College of Art and Craft in Portland and taught jewelry classes locally at Houston Community College, Stafford campus, from 2010 - 2016. Her work has been shown both locally and nationally in juried shows and invitational exhibitions. |
